Lisa Conway is a composer, sound artist, songwriter, and music producer who has composed for and collaborated with filmmakers, dancers, theatre directors, and performance artists for more than a decade. She is an alumni of the Red Bull Music Academy (2018, Berlin), as well as the Canadian Film Centre's year-long Slaight Music Residency (2016). She currently releases albums as L CON, and her work both in live performance and in the studio has garnered critical acclaim, receiving positive press from the CBC, The Fader, Uproxx, Tiny Mix Tapes, Earmilk, Exclaim, and The Toronto Star, and a SOCAN songwriting prize nomination. Lisa's collaborative and solo work has been heard at the Dusseldorf Spielhaus, TIFF, the Montreal Fringe Festival, the Sonic Arts Research Centre (Belfast), the Toronto Harbourfront Centre, the imagineNATIVE Film Festival, Art Spin, Summerworks, Ontario Place, the Canadian Music Centre, Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal, and the Art Gallery of Mississauga. She holds a BFA Honours in Music from York University, and an MA in Sonic Arts from Queen’s University Belfast, where she graduated with distinction, and has been teaching courses in songwriting and production to artists with lived experiences with mental illness and addiction since 2017.
