Mary Alouette

Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Coach from New York, United States
“As an opera student at MGill University in Montréal, Mary Alouette [Alarke] developed an interest that didn’t necessarily correspond to her studies: electronic music. It took moving to Brooklyn and embarking on a career as a Gypsy jazz singer to finally bring electronica into the mix…” - The Washington Post Opera and Gypsy jazz singer turned audio engineer turned award-winning pop vocalist and songwriter Alarke’s music is an exciting, vibey, future-forward meld of pop, electronic, classical, jazz, and world music. Fans of Grimes, Lady Gaga, Kimbra, and Lily Allen, take a listen. Her debut EP Midas (2012) landed her New Artist of the Year and Best Debut Album with the Washington Area Music Association. The Lark (EP), released in 2013, won her the Grand Prize with the Washington Area Music Association for her song, “Lionheart.” Her newest release, Grace (2016) features electronic x pop x krautrock x chillwave music x Gypsy jazz music. Favorite performances include Strathmore, the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center, Blues Alley, the Rainbow Room at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Fábrica Del Arte in Cuba, the Apollo Theater’s National Tour, Carnegie Hall, the Baltimore Orioles, the Washington Nationals, EA Games’ Boogie Superstar, Romani caravans in France, and writing music with refugees in Greece.
