Khaya Cohen

Producer - Songwriter - Vocalist from New York, United States
Khay is an NYC native producer, songwriter, performer and vocalist. She was thrown into the music industry when she was 15 years old and made it to the top 10 of The X Factor. Currently she is in her last year at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University. She thrives working on many different projects simultaneously because she loves the way they feed into each other. Right now her main endeavor is working as a producer, songwriter and lead vocalist with her band moon gel. In addition to this, Khay is doing sound design for a meditative installation work with a group called The Pollen Project, producing and writing with/for other artists, film scoring with her band mate Emily Sgorous and producing a podcast that highlights the work of female identifying and non-binary producers in conjunction with an organization called Gender Amplified. In the future in addition to releases with moon gel, The Pollen Project, and other artists she works with, she hopes to find a production mentor that she can assist for, and get some more work as a session vocalist.
