Born and raised in a traditional joint family in one of India’s cultural hubs, Kolkata, West Bengal, I am a music producer, composer, vocalist, and sound designer.
I began training in North-Indian classical vocals from the age of five. Thanks to my large family’s large variety of musical tastes, I grew up around a rich spread of Indian Classical, French music, rock and roll, jazz, orchestral music, western classical, and popular music from all corners of the world.
In 2017, I graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Professional Music and a minor in Music Production, Technology, and Innovation from Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain. During my time in Boston, I produced for and collaborated with a number of artists, self-published a record, and recorded and performed with various award-winning, international artists such as A.R. Rahman, Shreya Ghoshal, and Shankar Mahadevan.
In 2018, I moved to Los Angeles to work in audio post production. While in LA, I worked with Slick Sounds, an audio post production facility for TV, film, and advertising, with my mentor David F. Van Slyke. In early 2019, I moved to Brooklyn, NY, where I freelanced with studios across the United States, working in sound design, composition, sonic branding, sample development, and more. Apart from my work with the studios, I’m either working on my own music (as a producer and a vocalist), immersed in Hindustani music, electronic textures and soundscapes, and experimenting with synthesizers and sound waves.
The pandemic has changed some plans and brought me back to Kolkata, from where I am currently working. I intend to shift to Mumbai by the end of the year to explore all the possibilities it has to offer!
