Elaine Rasnake is the owner of Daughterboard Audio, a queer-owned and operated studio specializing in high-quality audio mastering located in Philadelphia, PA. Elaine's creative philosophy centers around maintaining and emphasizing your creative vision by making effective adjustments to your mixes in order to allow them to confidently sit alongside others in their genre. In the end, it’s all about providing peace of mind and ensuring that your tracks sound the best they possibly can on all playback systems. Elaine holds a B.A. in Music with a concentration in Audio/Video Recording and Vocal Performance from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and is notable for being the first woman to graduate with an audio production degree from Bloomsburg University. After graduating, she was a touring solo musician for several years and wrote, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered three albums and two EPs under various monikers. During this time, she began to provide audio production and post-production services to several bands and musicians in her local music scene. Elaine currently focuses on providing audio mastering and post-production services, educating musicians about the importance and art of mastering, and creating a space to help lift the voices of women and LGBTQIA+ members of the music community. She is a member of the AES and was a program chair and speaker at the 2021 AES Mastering Academy. She is also a moderator of the Mastering Engineers Worldwide Facebook group and a live sound technician at waR3house3 in Swarthmore, PA.
