By this Cover Letter, I would like to introduce myself and let you know some details more, relating to my professional experience and performance, you might be interested in.
My name is Dusica Bicanin , 32 years old pianist and accordionist from Belgrade, Serbia.
I acquired full musical education in my native country. My first music experience started when I was at the age of 7 when I first learnt to play the piano and the accordion. Thereupon, I completed in parallel a highly-reputed 8th Belgrade Grammar School (Major-science) and the Music High School “Kosta Manojlovic” in Zemun, Belgrade (Majoring: Piano and Accordion).
My further course of education was by enrollment the Faculty of Music Arts-currently “Faculty of Contemporary Arts”, Study group of the prominent professor, Zoran Rakic, PhD; I graduated with Honours Degree in 2008.
My professional education included attendance of Master Classes held by notable accordionists and pianists , performing leaders on competitions, festival and concerts.
For more than 12 years, I have been working as a professor of the accordion, the piano and the chamber music at the High Music School “Stanislav Binicki” in Belgrade.
In addition, I work and collaborate, as an accompanist and chamber music artist, with many musicians-especially with solo singers, violinists and other instrumentalists.
At this point, I would refer to the teaching activities that make an important part of my life; after 12-year experience in teaching, this became a lifestyle of mine. My personal strong feeling made me eager to teach and transfer my professional knowledge to younger generations, so as to help them like music and appreciate their skills and innate talents.
The nature of my work in education has prepared me for new position in Stockholm International School. My interest in teacher job possition stimulated me to lead a project on music. In addition, I have successfully employed approach when teaching and found, according swedish curriculum , many positive student outcomes. A key part of my career is helping students reach their potential, which I work towards by focusing on singing, performing, and music memory when teaching.
As shown by my experience in schools, I am enthusiastic about education and always strive to do the best for my students. I am able to take on responsibility for learning and have experience of successfully managing a class. I also have the enthusiasm and determination to ensure that I make a success of this role.
My strong attachment to music resulted in excitement to present my work through pupils and students performing at international competitions and concerts. My professional experience and career include participation in competitions and concerts in my country, I was invited to, as well as to act as the member of the music jury.
As for my personal traits and characteristics, I can say I am positive, open-minded person inclined towards trying new ideas.
