Abby Hegge

I took an audio class in college, hoping to learn a few skills that would help me to record my first solo album. I instantly fell in love with the subject and decided to continue to study audio recording throughout the rest of college. I began volunteering at a local all ages venue and discovered a love for live sound as well. Now I've mixed at every venue in my town, worked with a local production company, and co-own a tiny production company with my friend Willow called Wayward Audio. After several years of working only in live sound, I'm starting to get back to working in recording, mixing and mastering again as well! I really enjoy the work, but am saddened by the fact that almost all of my colleagues are men. It is very important to me to be there as a resource for other women, queer folks, and folks from other minorities who might consider a career in audio, and I look forwards to being connected to a network of others like me in different cities.
