Alex Brock is a sound designer and engineer from Greenfield, Indiana, currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This fall, Alex will begin her second of three years at University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) in pursuit of an MFA in sound design. As a graduate assistant, she aids in facilitating the sound shop, which includes equipment maintenance, production prep, and supervising work calls with undergraduate students. In her time at CCM, she will also fill the roles of production engineer, assistant/associate designer, and lead sound designer. This fall, she will begin teaching the introductory sound technology course for theatre production majors. Alex is a graduate of Ball State University's Department of Theatre and Dance, and spent her years there heavily involved in their rigorous educational production seasons, filling the roles of designer, mix engineer, and shop crew lead. In addition to her academic experiences, she has worked with the Great River Shakespeare Festival, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Indiana Repertory Theater, Bay Street Theater, Syracuse Stage, and Chautauqua Theater Company. Alex is also an early career member of TSDCA. As a lifelong lover of music, Alex values its use in theatre as a way to help audiences connect to characters and their stories.
