Amanda Davis

Amanda Davis is the Front of House (FOH) engineer for Janelle Monáe and the FOH engineer and Production Manager for Tegan and Sara. Amanda earned a Bachelors of Arts in Music (vocal performance concentration) from Chicago’s Roosevelt University in 2008. In 2010, she became a graduate of SAE Institute Atlanta’s Music Recording and Production program. Upon graduating, Davis was immediately hired as SAE’s first female Lab Supervisor, as well as, she became their first female Music Theory instructor. After two years of teaching, interning, and mixing audio for many of Atlanta’s rising artists and producers, she traveled as an Audio Technician for Carnival Cruise Lines. In 2013, Janelle Monáe handpicked Davis to serve as her Front of House Engineer. In her stint with Ms. Monae, Amanda has mixed legendary artists such as Prince and Stevie Wonder. Davis has also mixed in some of the world’s most renowned venues such as: The White House; Madison Square Garden; Radio City Music Hall; The Hollywood Bowl; Barclays Center; Good Morning America; The Today Show; Saturday Night Live; BET Awards; and American Idol. Most recently, Amanda received her first TV credit as mixer for the broadcast of Janelle Monáe's performance on Austin City Limits Live. Canadian indie/pop duo Tegan and Sara recruited Amanda to serve as their FOH engineer in 2016. In the fall of 2017, Amanda was named Production Manager on Tegan and Sara's “The Con X" tour. A native Memphian, Davis has worked with a broad array of artists in her short career, including: Wale, Jidenna, Nipsey Hussle, Olivia Newton John, SWV, and Normani.
