Jill Zimmermann

Jill is a two-time JUNO Award winning Audio Engineer currently working out of Jukasa Studios. In her 8 years working in Canada, she has accomplished to engineer 2 Gold Singles and a Gold Album while working with band such as: Three Days Grace, Alice Cooper, City and Colour, Alexisonfire, July Talk and The Trews. Having worked at a fulltime engineer at Jukasa made it possible to work with renowned Engineers and Producers: Bob Ezrin (Alice Cooper, Kiss, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple), Gavin Brown (Billy Talent, Barenaked Ladies, The Tea Party), Mike Plotnikoff (Three Days Grace, Hoobastank, BlessTheFall), Howard Benson (Motorhead, Three Doors Down, Daughtry) and Ian Davenport (July Talk, Wir Sind Helden).
 Coming from Cologne, Germany, Jill followed her dream to work in the North American Music Industry with its wealth of talented musicians and artists. Music was always part of her entire life, that included violin lessons, orchestra / choir rehearsals, playing the guitar and singing. Jill found her true passion for music and sound especially after attending many European and North American concerts and festivals.
 This all lead her to develop an interest in sound engineering at an early age. She achieved a Bachelor of Engineering in Media Technology specialized in Audio at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf, Germany. In addition, she achieved the Bachelor of Arts in Audio Production at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in Cologne, Germany. Working in various audio fields and getting hands-on experience with different types of consoles at the SAE lent her a better understanding about sound, which she relates to everyday in the studio environment.
 In 2010, she was selected as one of the ten most dedicated and motivated audio engineering students in all of Europe, being awarded the ‘Scholarship Of Sound’ presented by AKG Acoustics.
 Since Jill moved to Canada, she started working on many projects, some of those albums are the Juno winning album from Harrison Kennedy “This Is From Here” and Juno winning album “Touch” by July Talk as well as Billboard Number 1 Hits from Three Days Grace's album "Outsider" and Billboard Number 1 Album "Detroit Stories" by Alice Cooper. Her involvement in the many albums vary from engineering, mixing and even mastering.
