Kirsty is a sound designer and award-winning voice director and producer with close to 20 years professional experience. She specialises in sound design for theatre, opera, live events and audio drama, voice direction and production and character voice demo production. She trained in music performance and theatre at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) and sound engineering and audio production at the Music and Audio Institute of NZ. After moving to London, UK in 2002, she worked for the BBC for 8 years alongside freelance live sound and theatre work before establishing her company Sounds Wilde in 2010. Voice demos produced by Kirsty have been shortlisted for Best Demo awards at both the One Voice Awards (UK) and the Voice Arts Awards (US). In 2019 she was named Voice Over Services Provider of the Year at the One Voice Awards. Theatre and opera sound design credits include: Kill Climate Deniers (Pleasance Theatre), The Shape of the Pain (sound associate, Battersea Arts Centre), Don Giovanni (British Youth Opera), The Little Prince (Arcola), Shakespeare's Sister (ALRA), l'Ospedale (Wilton's Music Hall), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Arcola), This is why we live... (Theatre L'Enfumeraie), V and A Friday Lates (V and A Museum), Cancel the Sunshine (Hope Theatre), Boris Godunov (Jack Studio Theatre), An Ideal Husband (Tabard Theatre), Murderer (Upstairs at the Gatehouse), The Secret Garden (UK tour) and Love on Trial (Ovalhouse). Audio Drama credits include: The Space Race (Audible/B7 Media), The Conception of Terror: The Treasure of Abbot Thomas (Audible/Bafflegab Productions), Eleanor of Aquitaine (B7 Media), BRASS: The Devil in Whitechapel and BRASS: The Audio Series (both Battleground Productions), Ragged Scratch Podcast. Kirsty has taught sound design at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has been a guest speaker and panel host for the Audio Engineering Society and PLASA.
