Elena Šiljić

Elena Šiljić is a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and national award-winning songwriter from Auckland, NZ. She has worked in many studios around the world and is a big advocate for female and non-binary people in the industry. At the end of 2019, she started up her own boutique production company, 'Strange Blood Productions.' She composes bespoke works for a variety of projects from film, theatre, advertising, commercial and podcasting and has a studio based out of Auckland, New Zealand. She returned from London after completing a year-long producer/artist residency at the renowned UK music venue and community space, the Roundhouse. She is newly equipped with the industry knowledge and contacts she made in the UK music industry (PC Music, Spotify) and worked with the likes of Damon Albarn, Fataumata Diawara and many local and international acts. As well as her industry experience, she is connected to a large network of musicians in Auckland after graduating from the University of Auckland where she majored in Popular Music with a focus on Songwriting and Production as well as a Distinction Diploma in Guitar from the Royal College of London. Her production influences toy between different worlds, from experimental electronic to top 40 pop and she likes to combine the ethereal mystery and darkness of trip-hop with textures of synths, classical/orchestral influence as well as dance and club culture references. She likes to make pop music with alternative soundscapes and is a big advocate for female and non-binary persons in music industry in order to push the boundaries of what pop music is today.
