Lola de la Mata is a London based french artist, musician (violin / electronics / voice), and composer. She often draws on her experiences of the female body, and research based on AI, and the appropriation of female voices in corporate products. Her work ranges from monotypes and graphic scores to installations and compositions for movement, voice, electronics and classical instruments. // Her composition SWAY- for three performers preparing to stand was performed by Tre Vocci ensemble November 2015, and in April 2016 she was awarded honorary mention in the F I Williams Prize for Composition for her piece Katinka, written for the Distractfold Ensemble. // Her installation and sound piece were included in the First Engine Room Sound Art exhibition in 2016, and another piece in the 2018 issue. // She has worked with dance companies and dance artists in Basel, Paris, London, and New York. Earlier this year she performed with a dance group at Bow Arts in London, and at the Jersey Opera House. // Lola's album REMISE EN BOUCHE (palate cleanser), was released in April 2018, with Chicago net label, Pan y Rosas Discos. // Lola is the organiser behind the interdisciplinary artist group ‘Parallel Praxis’. Through monthly meet-ups, it seeks to support and explore the fundamentals of process and individual practice, to provide a wider network, and promote collaboration.
