Dyani Douze

DJ/Producer/Sound Designer from Los Angeles, United States
DOUZE is an LA-based audio-visual artist and future-facing club DJ/producer. Born in Coral Springs, Florida, Dyani Douze is a queer woman of Haitian descent, multimedia artist and curator. Her undergraduate studies at NYU’s Gallatin School focused on the relationship between sonic and visual arts – including sound design, production, and film scoring and editing – and her passions have converged in her work within local artistic communities. Cinematically, Douze was an editorial apprentice on Spike Lee’s documentary Bad 25 and produced her own short films as part of the New Negress Film Society, a collective of black womxn filmmakers who create spaces and support networks for black creators and audiences. Musically, Douze has performed at festivals like Afropunk, Red Bull Music Festival, and venues like MoMA PS1, the Knockdown Center and the Ace Hotel. She has DJ'd for The FADER magazine, NYLON magazine, NTS Radio and The Lot Radio, and formerly played as a resident DJ and member of Fake Accent, a regular party run by DJ Tygapaw for Brooklyn’s queer Caribbean diaspora.
