KYOSi’s music is a solo journey best traveled in a live performance setting. Fast technical movements, trained vocals and laboratory of electronic gear turns audience members into jaw-on-floor witnesses of vocal force rolled seamlessly into a sweaty dance party. Born from a series of dreams, the name KYOSi represents a character fascinated by sound, math, symmetry, beauty, wonder and color. Shows meander between verse and chorus style future-pop to deep, floor-opening doomsday bass, sampled laughter, pointed political criticism and experimental sampled sounds. Her music is at home in a Berlin basement or Manhattan gallery.
KYOSi’s work has been featured in Earmilk, Impose Magazine, Going Solo, Berlin Community Radio, Dubspot Radio and East Village Radio. Her remix of Anthony Valadez (KCRW) and Miles Bonny’s (Bastard Jazz) song Fade Away was released on LA label Plug Research. She has performed extensively in NYC, LA and Berlin, at SXSW and Art Basel.
In addition to being a singer and producer, KYOSi is the founder of The Thesis Group, a creative agency that brings together artists and aesthetes by asking them to create new work in unfamiliar ways. The Thesis Group has amassed a following including VICE, KCRW, and many emerging and well established artists.
